Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA is the sole proprietor of his CPA firm. Chris Hervochon provides outsourced accounting and tax preparation for small businesses and individuals.
Before starting his own CPA firm, Chris spent ten years between forensic accounting and corporate accounting and finance. He has been featured in publications such as the Journal of Accountancy, Accounting Today, AMEX Open Forum, Parakeeto Podcast, The Agency Management Institute Podcast and the Digital Marketing Agency Builders Podcast for his industry knowledge and accounting expertise.
Staying on top of industry trends and compliance
Chris' passion for the accounting and finance industry is evident by a number of extra-curricular programs. He volunteers as a committee member of the AICPA Young Member Leadership Committee, and lead of the Retention Task Force. Chris is a member of the Business & Industry and Government Affairs Committees, as well as the CPE Facility Task Force of the South Carolina Association of CPAs.
Chris has been selected as one of the "40 Under 40" in the Accounting Profession by CPA Practice Advisor magazine for the years 2019 through 2023. In 2018, Chris was one of only 41 CPAs honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) as a member of the Leadership Academy’s tenth graduating class. Chris was selected based on his exceptional leadership skills and professional experience for the four-day Leadership Academy program, which he graduated from in October of 2018.

A background rooted in finance
Chris graduated from Elon University with a degree in Accounting and minor in Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in South Carolina and also holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) certification. Chris is also a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, and has earned the Data Analytics Executive Certificate from the AICPA.
Not just accounting
Chris is currently building a software company that was born out of the automation he built within the accounting firm. Herv.ai is a bookkeeping quality control platform that searches for errors within QuickBooks Online files and proactively alerts the bookkeeper to any problems. All of our customers are currently connected to the platform as accurate accounting is the backbone of everything we do within the firm.
Life outside the office
When he's not crunching numbers, Chris likes to spend time with his wife and three young kids, play golf, obsess over efficient workflows, listen to Metallica, and watch the Philadelphia Eagles. In that order. Seriously. Every April, you can find Chris on the 18th hole of Harbour Town Golf Links volunteering as a Marshall at the PGA Tour's RBC Heritage presented by Boeing.
Heather Lancaster, Staff Accountant, joined the firm as a staff accountant, providing outsourced accounting and tax preparation for small businesses and individuals.
Before joining Chris Hervochon’s firm, Heather spent three years in the automotive accounting industry. She is finishing her degree with a focus in accounting from Brenau University. Heather also regularly volunteers for the American Red Cross, Night of Champions and the Arts Council. When Heather isn’t working, she loves spending time at home with her husband and dogs.
Heather is a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor and she is Bill.com Certified.
Lizelle Potgieter, Staff Accountant, was born in South Africa. She graduated from the University of Pretoria with a degree in Statistics and Economics.
After working in accounting for a few years, she traveled the world and raised her kids, living in New Zealand, Vanuatu and Canada. Eventually, Lizelle settled in America, and with the kids grown, she got back to accounting.
When she's not working, Lizelle can be found in the garden, growing as much colorful plants as she can find.
Jeff Byington, Business Development Representative, is a respected and award-winning sales executive with 15+ years’ experience leading high energy sales operations and while maintaining top-levels of customer satisfaction across high-growth and startup organizations. He is originally from Idaho and joined the Army right out of high school. Jeff rose through the ranks and entered as a private and separated from the Army 11 years later as an officer with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. Jeff loves living in the Lowcountry (Bluffton/Hilton Head/Savannah area) and when he is not working you will find him on the beach.
